Thank you!

to all of the volunteers for making it another successful year of Hunter Safety Classes!

The Field Day Hunter Safety Class involves a Saturday field day from 12 pm - 4 pm.  (classroom portion is completed by either, online training or as a take home study format. )

When you visit the Hunter Safety site, search Isabella County or the dates May 1/3 to find it.  If you have any questions, contact Alex Imlay, imlay@msu.edu.

We need female instructors!

Please consider volunteering and making an impact on a young lady's life!  If you have an interest in making a difference, contact Alex Imlay, imlay@msu.edu.

One of the hallmarks of our club is instructing Hunter Safety.

We have been made aware that the process to become a certified instructor is changing in 2024. They are encouraging anyone interested to get it done this calendar year.

It is a fairly simple process.

1. fill out an online form, which can be found at https://michigan.volunteers.kalkomey.com/

2. The DNR performs a basic background check

3. When passed, the DNR will send you a packet in the mail. You must fill out the packet and complete a written test (don't fear, it's not super tough and all of the answers can be fond in the packet.) Mail the packet in.

4. The DNR will notify you if you pass. You must mentor under a certified instructor for one class. We will help with this. Once that is completed, you are a certified instructor.

Feel free to contact us if you have questions.

I am interested in a Hunter Safety Course

Thanks for yout interest!
